About Free and Open Source softwares

As our society grows more dependent on computers, the software we run is of critical importance to securing the future of a free society. Free software is about having control over the technology we use in our homes, schools and businesses, where computers work for our individual and communal benefit, not for proprietary software companies or governments who might seek to restrict and monitor us.
As scientists we totally embrace this philosophy and everything here is realized according to this concept. This website is written in simple xhtml via the bluefish 2.2.3 editor and GNU Emacs 23.4.1, using a hand-written well-documented css style. The website is tested (and will surely work) with Chromium 24 + (free version of Google Chrome) and Mozilla Firefox 10 + browsers. All the images are processed via Gimp 2.8.2. The leaflets are realized using inkscape 0.48.4.
